World natural heritage registration that the Shiretoko peninsula was registered into the world natural heritage on July 14, 2005 serves as specification which ranks second to Yaku Islands in Kyushu, and northeastern Shirakami mountain range in Japan. The Shiretoko peninsula is a peninsula belonging to Chishima volcanic zone, and is a peninsula formed the volcano pushed out about 70km to the eastern part [ of Hokkaido ] and Sea of Okhotsk side erupting. It seems that severe environmental protection to which a primitive natural figure is limited, so even a tourist restricts entry is made. Especially the circumference of the Shiretoko cape of a tip portion is specially specified as a refuge now, and entry is forbidden. |
